Board Responsibilities & Purpose

The Board of Directors governs Alaska HOSA in accordance with state CTSO charters, nonprofit governance standards, and National HOSA bylaws.

Establishes long-term goals and strategic workforce priorities for Alaska HOSA, aligning student competitive pathways with high-demand healthcare careers across urban and rural Alaska.

02 // FIDUCIARY

Fiscal Stewardship

Provides comprehensive budgetary oversight, reviews annual financial reports, secures CTE grant alignments, and ensures responsible stewardship of sponsor and scholarship funds.

03 // EQUITY & CHAPTERS

Chapter Advocacy

Advocates for secondary and postsecondary chapters statewide, assisting rural and bush school districts with affiliation resources, travel stipends, and advisor mentorship.

04 // INDUSTRY

Healthcare Partnerships

Bridges classroom instruction with hospital networks, tribal health organizations, clinical laboratories, emergency services, and higher education nursing and medical programs.

05 // CONFERENCES

State Leadership Conference

Oversees the governance, judge recruitment, clinical event standards, and delegate proceedings for the annual Alaska State Leadership Conference.
